The Nottingham MRCOG Part 2 Course, which has been running for over 25 years, has an unrivalled international reputation and high pass rate. The course venue is a teaching hospital in a vibrant, lively city in the centre of England with easy access to the motorways, the rail network and East Midlands airport. The hospital has its own hotel so there is cheap accommodation available on-site, and there is a range of local hotels near the venue.

Our teaching faculty features internationally renowned speakers (one of our lecturers is also a gold medal winner - see if you can spot which one) and college examiners and question-writers throughout the week.

The theory course represents excellent value for money:

  • full lecture programme on difficult topics
  • small group tutorials on RCOG green-top guidelines
  • two-paper mock exam to practise time management with review of the answers
  • practice with a bank of 120 EMQs and 150 SBAs (in addition to the mock exam)
  • plenty of feedback
  • examination technique tips
  • course dinner with faculty
  • on-site en-suite accommodation
  • lunch every day

You can "mix and match" depending on your revision needs. Options that are available include:

  • Full 7 day theory course including written exam day
  • Mock exam 2 day course
  • Preceding 1 day 'Generic skills' course before the theory course starts
  • Two day OSCE course immediately following the theory course & repeated later

There is an Early Booking Discount available; for details please see the Course Calendar.

The first of the optional courses - the Generic Skills Course - is open to all but is most beneficial to international participants unfamiliar with UK practice. It is essential for success in the examination that candidates are well versed in clinical governance, audit, critical appraisal, risk management and research statistics. The Generic Skills Course covers these aspects over a single day (and would also be of benefit to those working in the UK who are struggling with those topics).

The second optional course is for OSCE practice. The OSCE course is available twice per examination diet - either at the end of the theory course or later when the RCOG publishes the 'proceed' list.

The MRCOG Part 2 is a challenging examination and to succeed requires great commitment, clarity of thought and sound clinical knowledge. Our approach is based upon enhancing these aptitudes to improve your exam technique and we have a proven track record in helping you achieve your goal. Recently five gold medal candidates have attended our course. 2012 was a good year during which we taught both of the gold medal winners!
